New Extension to Glucksman Library

University of Limerick

About the project

University of Limerick added this major extension to their Library to meet student demand for reading space. The bookstacks are centrally located in a multi-storey storage stack with booked accessed automatically, removing the need for most of the book shelving on the large open reading floors. This allowed lots of space for reading and study.

We supplied a big range of different reading tables, from fully enclosed individual study space to open more collaborative desks, and everything in between. The tables are arranged over 4 levels and every desk is fitted with its own task light. There are in all approximately 500 reading desks of various types. For their old book collection we supplied solid wood reading tables to complete the project.
